Dear Sir:

	Mr. Gramm is not now going east, he is compelled to go to California on some important business. Your coming this way has happened all right. The Board of Trustees of the University appointed a Committee consisting of the Governor of the State, Hon. DeForest Richards, Hon. Otto Gramm and the President of the University to confer with you. I will advise the committee of your coming and we can arrange a meeting before you leave for your trip in the field. Have heard nothing of Mr. Reed, presume he is in the field at work.
