Dear sir I wrote and posted a letter to you this a m but at noon recived one from you and am much surprised at its contence that survey should have ben mad at least two weeks ago the weather has ben fine and I gave Colnol Downey the field notes and a sectionised drawing of the ground so that the surveyor he has employed could not fail to find the spot and what causes all this delay is more than I can understand. If I had know this my plans would have ben changed but as it is to late now for me to withdraw, and there is another thing, in order to have my resignation excepted I gave my word of honor that I woud not give any information or myself do any thing to
