Medicine Bow Wyo. Sept. 11th 1899 My Dear Dr. Holland:- Your letter of Sept. 2nd has just reached me and I hasten to reply. First let me congratulate you upon your splendid prospects of a speedy recovery from such a dangerous and serious an operation which you have just been through. Secondly let me caution you against any disobedience of your surgical advisors. I fancy that the enforced quiet which they enjoin is irksome beyond endurance almost, but they know best what is necessary and it will be well for you to follow their directions implicitly. I wrote Mr. Mellor sometime since concerning the ordering of the car for our shipment. I told him that it would be best to consult you in the matter if you were able and strong enough since you had already made partial arrangements with Mr. Darlow about it. Upon looking over our transportation I found that our Northwestern passes expired Aug. 25th and our U.P. passes were limited to Sep. 15th. I took the liberty to write both the Northwestern and the U.P. people asking an extension until Nov. 15th and I am happy to report that they both granted the request at once. I really think that I ought to do something for the U.P. Company and I have offered my services to Mr. Darlow to assist him in any way within my power in getting up his advertising matters for this country.
