Yours of July 12th Recd yesterday in Reply I would Say My Old Mother is Sick Abead [sic] & I am Sorry to hafto [sic] Write you that it will be Imposable [sic] to go with you at the Present time I have looked Forward to a Pleasant trip but it is not my doings & cant be helped I would not like to leave her She is Liable to drop off at Eny [sic] Moment she is 81 years Old.

I will notify Gage to be Ready with 2 teams to meet you the 21st I hope this will not cause eny [sic] hard feelings betwene [sic] us.
