The ground embraced in this plat is practically all the property on the right hand side of the street going up from Morewood avenue to Woodlawn avenue, embracing the houses of Mr. Mellon, Harry Brown, John R. McGinley, etc. No inkling of this had been given any member of the Committee beforehand. It came as a complete surprise to Mr. Frew and Colonel Church. Bigelow has a plan to have the city buy this property, under condemnation proceedings if necessary, for a million and a half dollars, and on his own hook had gone on to see Mr. Carnegie, and A.C. had promised him three millions for buildings in case he secured the property. Of course nothing will ever happen in this connection.

	The Heinz watches have all been arranged in the case. I have had stands made to support them three inches high, cut the shape of the watches, and have succeeded in getting a small reflecting mirror to show the opposite sides of the watches. I will have Prentice make the labels for these, as he will finish the labels for the coins the first part of next week.

	Mrs. Courtney returned to work Monday, and we are pushing the accession lists for the Annual Report as fast as possible.

	I was very glad to hear that you and Coggeshall had arrived safely and suppose you are busy in Berlin getting Diplodocus ready at this time.
