May 7th, 1907. My dear Dr. Holland: In reply to yours of the 3rd instant, I am pleased to advise you that Mr. Carnegie has authorized me to furnish you with funds for replicas of Diplodocus to be presented to the Emperor of Germany and the President of France. Mr. Carnegie also wishes you to go to France and Germany, and do as you did in London, and I am sure he would not expect you to do this at your own expense. He wants you to meet the Emperor and President of France, and says this is your change to return decorated all over you manly bosom. If you will advise me when funds on this account are required, I shall take pleasure in responding to your calls.
