The Republic of Argentina is advancing by leaps and bounds. Statements published as to population, resources, railroad milage, the production of various crops, made only a year or two ago, are antiquated today. The people of Argentinal have tacitly concluded that revolutions are not profitable. In the last century they were plagued with revolutions and counter-revolutions. Today they have settled down to the conviction that an orderly government, well administered, affords the best opportunity for development. The spirit of commercialism and industrialism reigns supreme. The Argentinos has ceased to be a poltician in the sense in which he was a politician fifty years ago, and has become, like the people of our own country, keen in chase of the dollar.
