Mr. W.J. Holland, Director Emeritus in charge of Paleontology, Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh, Pa. Dear Mr. Holland: This acknowledges receipt of your letter of September 18th containing information that the Pennsylvania Lines, as well as the Texas Mexican, have informed you that they will grant free transportation over their lines for the replica of the Diplodocus which you are sending to the National Museum of Mexico City. After receipt of President McDonald's letter of September 12th to which was attached your letter of September 10th, I wrote you under date of September 19th stating that the Southern Pacific Lines in Texas and Lousiana would be glad to handle this shipment without cost between the points of New Orleans and Alice, provided that other lines interested in the movement did likewise. When the shipment is ready to go forward if you will furnish me with the number of the car in which it is loaded, I will issue instructions for its free movement over our lines. Yours truly, H.M. Lull
