About a year ago I was informed through his Excellency Senor Manuel Tellez, the Ambassador of Mexico in Washington, tha tthe scientific men of your country would appreciate the gift to Mexico of a replica of the colossal fossil reptile, Diplodocus carnegiei, similar to the replicas presented by Mr. Carnegie during his lifetime to King Edward VII, the German Emperor, the President of France, & c, & c, which now are found in the national museums of various European countries, and also in the National Museum at La Plata, Argentina.
