Copy for Dr. W.J. Holland June 12, 1930 Dr. I. Ochoterena Instituto de Biologia Casa de Lago, Chapultepec Mexico, D.F., Mexico My dear Dr. Ochoterena We have recently received word from Dr. W.J. Holland, of the Carnegie Museum, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, of his interesting conferences with you in Mexico City and of the need which you have expressed for use in the Instituto de Biologia of copies Institution of Washington. In view of the importance of this work to studies which your Institute is undertaking, we have made special effort to gather a set of the four volumes comprising the Cactus Monograph for your use. These books are being dispatched to you at the above address through the International Exchange Service of the Smithsonian Institution, but I am sorry to say that one of two of the volumes will be found to be somewhat soiled and shopworn. The first three volumes of the Cactus Monograph are now entirely out of print, and very few copies reamin available of Volume IV. We have had to take, therefore, such copies as could be gathered together for your use. We hope, nevertheless, that the books will reach you safely, and that they will prove of interest and service in your Institute W.M. Gilbert Administrative Secretary
