I agree with you that it would be a very good move to accede to the request of the Mexican ambassador by presenting one of the replicas to Mexico. As far as the other is concerned, I shall leave the matter entirely in your hands. It would seem a pity, I think, to break in upon a completed replica by giving portions to the United States National Museum; and it just occurs to me whether the molds which you say are practically worn out might be usable for the missing parts which the National Museum requires. You say you have the accumulated interest on the small balance which was left from Mr. Carnegie's original fund, but probably not enough to pay
