As the helpful to fill the long hiatus between the Bridger and the White River, so that beds beneath the helped to connect the Bridger and the White River. The gap between the U and White River appears now to be the longest in the tertiary series of the western part of the United States, but some of our collections, which we have made this summer, may make the gap seem narrower. There are overlying the near Green River, gray beds which have much the apperance of White River sediments. I have not yet had the opportunity of examining them but intend to later. It would be a rich joke if we could find in them a mammalian fauna transitional to the White River.
