Tuesday Nov. 8, 1910 My dear Dr. Holland:- I am glad to say we have the freight loaded into a Pennsylvania car and are ready to return to Vernal tomorrow. I hope the rock will arrive safely. We are always learning better methods, and another year I hope we may avoid having Greeks handle valuable specimens. I did my best but you can't educate them in a day. We ought to have taken full charge of the thing and got a few to help us. We went down in the canon to examine the specimen I told you about. There is one side of the anterior portion of a skull of Diplodocus, but we had no tools with us and it would be quite expensive getting it so I will leave it either until I return this fall or until next spring. I will get the quarry in good, safe condition as soon as possible and then start on my homeward journey. You said something about Mrs. Douglass' expenses that I thought I understood, but am not sure as I recall it. Yours as ever, Earl Douglass
