My dear Stewart:-

	I cant understand why it is impossible for me to get any check books from The Oakland Savings and Trust Company. I have written to them at least twice -- the first time four months ago or more. I again wrote four or five weeks ago. I will write them again to day. I also mentioned it to you and sent you a telegram when in Watson the 2nd of January. There is something wrong somewhere. I used my last check about three weeks ago. Luckily I had "a couple of hundred dollars" of my own in the Uinta State Bank and have been drawing on that to pay small bills, but it is pretty nearly gone. I have got to have checks to straighten up the business here of course. Would you see on phone to the O.S.&T. Co. and see what is the trouble, and personally
