undoubtedly a section east or west of my section would show different results, as the beds seem to be thickest here. I measured sections through the lower and middle Uinta over a year ago, and found the beds to be much thinner on Millers Creek s.w. of here. Riggs in the section which Prof Osborn sent me indicates no fossils in the lower 500 ft of the Uinta but I know where there are Turtles, Mammals, Insects, plants, and Unios. But probably I do not understand Riggs section -- in fact I know I don't. -- But when I get his paper for which I have sent it will probably be clear to me.
