If the ribs of the left side had been in place this bone would have lain between the 4th & 5th ribs of the opposite sides. [Sketch] I cant accurately describe or figure a bone which I cannot see but I can show you about its position. If it were entirely cleared from the matrix I might know what it is. It seems to suggest a clavicle, rather than a sternal plate. a and b are thin and look as if they might have articulated with something. Surfaces c & d are concave. If it is a sternal or a clavicle we probably will get its mate. I think I told you we had struck part of the long-looked for spinal column of the Allosaurus!! Something new is turning up all the time. We have enclosed two turtles from the quarry with the Brontosaurus jaw as there was space for them in the box.
