Jensen, Utah, Jan. 16, 1915 Mr. Douglas Stewart Carnegie Museum Pittsburg, Pa. My dear Stewart:- Your letter of Jan. 8 concerning balance of $37.27 on field account in bank just received and I will gladly explain the matter. This was the amount due me from the field account in the bank, on account of drawing from my personal account to pay museum bills. This I did not draw out until near the time when I last left for the west. As you will see by my last account which I rendered in 1913 (April 1913) after returning to Pittsburg the accounts were balanced. With regard to accounts I frequently verify them by adding all debits and credits. This I did soon after rendering my April 1913 account and found my accounts were exact "to a cent". You could do the same if you wish to do so.
