Jensen, Utah, May 11, 1915 Douglas Stewart Carnegie Museum Pittsburg, Pa. My dear Stewart: Your recent letter was received yesterday. I was glad to get the information concerning the jaws and portions of the skull of the large Dinosaur. It seems probable, as you say, that, considering the mode of deposition, the sandstone containing these remains might be practically contemporaneous with the layers -- a little lower apparently, -- in which we find the skeletons. Sand banks, in high water are often piled up a good many feet above the bottom of the river channel. I notice what you say about expenses, and, until further agreement, I will, unless something unusual occurs, stay within the $300 limit. Should any such thing happen I can communicate with you.
