Jensen, Utah, August 28, 1915 Dr. Wm. J. Holland Carnegie Museum Pittsburg, Pa. My dear Dr. Holland, I received on the 21st the affirmed cancellation of our Mineral Entry Vernal 04764 -- Carnegie Museum Placer -- signed by the First Assistant Secretary of the Interior. This document I enclose. I have conferred with Thos. W. O'Donnell who was our attorney in the matter. He has looked up the matter and says we have 30 days from my receipt of the letter (Aug. 21st) to make a plea for the reopening and revision of the case. Notwithstanding the decision it seems to me it comes plainly within the law. It is emphatically for "scientific purposes" and the material is most certainly mineral as could be easily shown by an analysis of their chemical constituents.
