September 1, 1915 Mr. Earl Douglass Jensen Utah My Dear Douglass;- I have not has a line from you for two months. Your long letter in which you sent me a list fo birds, mammals, & c., which inhabit Utah and which you thought one of the young men whom you knew would be albe to make a collection of, was duly received at a time I could not very well take up the matter. And even now, with all the demands made upon us, I hesitate to suggest the employment of this young man to make these collections, but would like to have some more definite knowledge as to his ability to put up bird and mammal skins. If he has any samples of this work done in approved style that could be submitted to us I should be glad to examine them. Long ago I sent you a picture of Mrs. Douglass's tree which I sketched in camp. I wonder whether it ever reached you, and if so, if it came in safety. I had it framed by Wunderly Brothers and gave instructions to forward it, carefully packed to avoid breakage, by parcel post. I should be gald to know if it has come to hand. How are you getting along with your work and what is the result of it. We have spend during the past year between four and five thousand dollars on account of the operation of the quarry.
