The tints of sky, water, earth and vegation are wonderful. I hope you have not made the last trip to what you, after your first trip prophesied would be a locus classicus in palaeontology. Perhaps you have thought of the matter and acted on it but if not do you not think it best, to have a chemical analysis made of fossil bone from the quarry so as to put our case beyond dispute if we get a rehearing or review of the case? That, if no other evidence ought to settle the matter, and nothing but arbitrary stubbornness would keep us from our right. Yours as ever, Earl Douglass
