City-life does not agree with me and it has taken a long time to recover my usual health. My income is not sufficient so that I can move my family back and forth. My father is old and feeble and it would be almost like death for me to leave him now. I have been looking forward to the time when, if the Museum felt that they must suspend operations here for a time I would be able to remain here. I could get positions here but perhaps not as Todd says just at the opportune time. I have thought, since I have heard of the alleged setting aside of the quarry, that the government would not wish to leave it unguarded (as it will now be more renowned than ever and people are very prone to carry away fragments of Monuments etc) that this might solve the problem if such should arise. Please do what you can for me. I believe it can be arranged to the advantage of both parties. As Ever, Earl Douglass
