On the 8th of January a permit was granted to the Carnegie Museum through its authorized representatives, to continue, during 1916, the excavations inaugurated by it prior to the creation of the National Monument. This was received by Mr. Douglass during the latter part of January. Preparations and arrangements for work at the quarry were completed and in February excavation was resumed with the best facilities for the economical accomplishment of work in the history of the quarry, and apparently the best outlook for a rich reward. Though it is almost impossible to entirely eliminate errors, efforts have been made each year to make the charts and records of the quarry
