progressing satisfactorily. We found that we could not get all of the new Apatosaurus No. 240 out without pot-holing, so we began at the west end with a 5 or 6 foot deeper cut. We have now nearly 50 feet of it and have 40 to 50 feet yet to run probably before coming to the skeleton above referred to. Have however struck the bone-bearing layer and have struck bones of a carnivorous Dinosaur. Cant tell what it will amount to yet. May get "pay dirt" from now on. Please excuse brevity as I have a beastly cold in my head so am keeping reasonably quiet this forenoon. In general my health has slowly improved ever since I came out last. I hope you are feeling well. I know of no discouraging report to make. It all looks good ahead so far as quarry is concerned. Yours as ever, Earl Douglass
