As the men were resourceful and skillful in doing all kinds of necessary work, sufficient tools and machinery were purchased to make the Museum force at the quarry independent of outside carpenters, blacksmiths etc. These tools have probably already paid for themselves. The records of the quarry were continually growing. There was no convenient place to make them and no safe place to file them. A shelter and a store room for tools, supplies, etc. were needed. All the material for a little house, except a small amount of lumber, windows, etc was on the ground. A stone mason was employed and a substantial stone building about 12 x 14 was made. This is safe and is comfortable in summer and winter. For charts and other records a metal chest was made.
