My Dear Mr. Turner;- Confirming my conversation with you over the telephone, in reference to the bill which I have received on account of transportation of car M.Y.P.N.E. No. 761 I desire to call you attention to the fact that the bill is in error, as this car, as well as car M.Y.C. No. 2351866, still on its way east, was granted free transit from Mack, Colorao, to Pittsburgh over the lines of the D. & R. G., the C., B. & Q., and the B.&O. Railroads, in accordance with the rulings of the Interstate Commerce Commission, which gives the Railways the right to grant reduced or free transportation to materials intended for exhibition in museums. For your information I herewith append copies of letters received from Mr. C.W. Burnham, Vice President of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad; from Mr. H. U. Mudge, President of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway Company; and from Mr. A.W. Thompson of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company. I will be very glad to avail myself of your kind offer to have this matter adjusted. I am yours very truly, Director Carnegie Museum
