He thought it would not be needed but filed it with the other papers so it could be used if necessary. I think there is no doubt that you will get it but you know how slowly anything of the kind moves in Washington.

	We have had trouble here the same as everywhere else to get men, especially steady men -- in fact all of my steady men have been taken or gone into business for themselves, except one, and a neighbor whom I can get for the greater part of the time. I have plenty of men now to do the rough work and it is progressing very well. Now harvest and the heaviest haying is done I think we will not be short of men again.
