I could not fully solve the problem without removing a good deal of rock which would require some time. Then one of my men, in taking out a bone block a little above and "behind" the tail of the Stegosaurus exposed three articulated vertebrae of a neck of a Dinosaur. Since we have exposed seven -- rather four or five more of these cervicals, so we can now count about eight! The length of the vertebrae puzzle me now but it is not best to say much until the whole is more clearly in view. I knew, if there was a skull there we would certainly want to get it out and it seemed that it might take a good deal of time to remove the rock above and take out the bones that this rock might contain. It looked as if we might be caught at the first of the year without a permit. I was not sure that failing our application someone else might
