Mr. Stewart I am sending financial statement for August. I regret the delay but it was well nigh unavoidable. I think it will not occur again. The men have not yet returned from their vacation so I cannot get signatures to vouchers. I will send all receipts a little later. Will try to send report for September at earliest date, or in a few days will send statement of affairs to date so things can be fully adjusted. Your letter of the 12th of the month was not received until last evening. As I said I will send a more definite statemtn as soon as I can, but it seems it will be necessary to step work at the quarry until we are even finacially and then employ only two men regularly, as there are unavoidable expenses outside of labor. If, however, it is decided to dispose of the two skeletons of Diplodocus, I see no reason whcy two parties could not work at the same time as they need not be in each others way. Mr. Kay and I will go with records and get through with them unless you order that tit be deferred until the work at the quarry is completed, though I think you will agree that it should be done as quickly as possible. Mr. Coggeshall stated that it was understoon that I take care of the expenses in the field, the board etc. This necessarily had amounted to a considerable. Earl Douglass
