He would probably be the very best man we could get as he knows freighting and knows the roads, but about noon today I received a telegram from him stating that on account of the conditions of the roads impossible to haul anything this way.



This evening I talked with a friend in Vernal who has been telephoning to his father in Craig and it seems that the trouble is the other men who own trucks do not dare tackle the proposition.  If the roads were good as I have seen them they could make some money at the price, but not it is a quite different proposition and I think that they do not dare to attempt it for fear they will lose out on it.  This gentlemen intends to come down in about four days and I expect to see him again.
