As I wired you, we have not yet begun to load. Hoped to be able to begin loading today and made provisional plans for a car but, as it was not held, there will be no charges on it. As conditions are now, it is not best to engage a car until we are assured of a load. We will have to unload on platform until that time comes. I will do my best to keep things lined up. I am giving $1.50 per cwt. and it is rather difficult to get enough trucks for that price. However I think the roads will be excellent before long. We have had an unusually stormy spring. I have Kay on the other end to take care of things there. Some of the truckers will have to get their pay for the first load or two to pay for gasoline and for other expenses. Some have been trucking for companies (coal companies etc) which [repeats] in order to pay for gasoline and for other expenses.
