My dear Douglass: I have just received word from the Oakland Savings & Trust Co. that the field account is overdrawn $87,52. I have repeatedly told you that I cannot possible keep your deposits right unless you can do this I will have to close the Field Account here and send you a draft every month so that you may keep your accounts in the West. I have already informed you the allowance which I will make for this summers work. I will tomorrow morning deposit $250 of course, the $87.52 will have to be taken out of that. I will not be at the after Saturday next until August 6th. Of course any important mail or telegrams will be forwarded to me. Therefore, please be guided by these instructions and do not overdraw. Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter. Director Carnegie Museum
