Dear Dr. Pack: Your letter of July 12th was forwarded to me at Hot Springs where I am spending my vacation. In regard to your proposition concerning Mr. Earl Douglass, I would be very glas to do everything possible to help you out and I realize that it would be very disastrous for you to put an inexperienced man in the quarry. I do not think however that Mr. Dougals can attend to two jobs at the same time. If he can arragne to finish his collecting at the time you need him, I will be glad to give him to your pay roll. This same thing could be arranged with Mr. Kay. I am planning to bring Mr. Kay to Pittsburgh during the oxming winter and so could not let you have him later than October 15th. I will write Mr. Douglass and tell him of my proposition to you. Kindly let me know your views on the matter, addressing your letter to my office. Yours very sincerely Director Carnegie Museum
